ACLS Initial (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Approximately a 14 – 16 hour course designed for healthcare providers who direct or participate in the advanced life support resuscitation of a patient, in or out of the hospital. Course work focuses on the identification and treatment of medical conditions contributing to cardiac arrest; treatment choices for arrest and peri-arrest patients; BLS adult CPR techniques; recognition of algorithms; interpretation of arrhythmias and appropriate ACLS drug therapy. Course cost includes the Student Provider Manual, which is shipped to the student upon prepayment. Students must take and pass (70% passing score) a pre-course self-assessment prior to class. Proof of completion is required on the first day of class. Upon successful course completion, with a passing score on the written exam, and successful Megacode skills evaluations, students receive an AHA ACLS Provider certification card valid for two years. (Note: All ACLS students should have current BLS Provider certification. BLS certification is not included in this course.).
